Minister
of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has chaired the first board meeting of the
Industrial and Mining Projects Authority (IMPA) after restructure, in the presence
of Mohamed Anwar, head of the executive body of the authority, and new members
of the board of directors.
The
meeting reviewed ways to enhance the role of the authority in developing the
industrial, mining and service sectors as well as infrastructure projects.
Gamea
stressed the importance of the authority in providing consultancy and
engineering services, as well as implementing and managing urban, industrial and
infrastructure projects.
Anwar,
for his part, said that the authority's services also include the establishment
of industrial zones, specialized industrial cities, and ports; the operation and
maintenance of water stations, in addition to heavy and mining industries
projects.
The
IMPA’s board was reformed by the Prime Minister’s decree for a period of three
years, under the chairmanship of Minister of Trade and Industry.
