Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has met with Hamad
Saeed Al Shamsi, new ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt, where they
discussed means of boosting cooperation between the two countries in various
fields.
“The UAE is Egypt's largest trading partner in the Middle
East, with a trade value of $4.111 billion in 2020, up from $3.356 billion a year earlier,” Gamea said.
She added that Egyptian exports to the UAE amounted to $2.882
billion in 2020, compared to $2.51 billion in 2019, noting that the Gulf
country is the largest foreign investor in the Egyptian market too.
Al-Shamsi, for his part, stressed his country's keenness to further
strengthen cooperation with Egypt, pointing out that the close strategic relations
binding them have significantly developed over the past years.
