Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine
Gamea has met with Samir Lebbar, president and general manager of Procter &
Gamble (P&G) North Africa, where they discussed the company’s current projects
and future expansion plans in the local market.
During the meeting, the minister
stressed the government’s commitment to offering all support to industrial businesses
operating in Egypt to boost their investments through setting up new projects
or making further expansions to existing ones.
“The political leadership pays special
attention to deepening domestic industry and replacing imports with locally-manufactured
products,” Gamea said, noting that Egypt possesses all the industrial components
needed to be a global manufacturing and export hub.
She further added that P&G is
opening its recent liquid detergent production line in Egypt to meet the local
market needs and export abroad.
