The General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) received industrial and non-industrial 46,904 shipments during the first half of the year, according to its latest performance report.
Essam al-Naggar, head of the GOEIC, pointed out that 29,844 industrial and 14,943 non-industrial consignments were accepted out of 31,548 and 15,356 respectively.
The authority, he added, inspected 105,685 shipments during the January-July period, including 7,767 food; 45,616 chemical; 47,161 industrial and 5,141 contract samples.
According to the report, the GOEIC issued 14 free sale certificates to Egyptian companies exporting to Tunisia, Morocco, Kuwait and Algeria; as well as 189,978 certificates of origin during the reporting period.
