Essam al-Naggar, head of the General
Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), has inaugurated the newest chemical
laboratories at its branch in Nuweiba, after upgrading its physical and human infrastructure.
“The move, at a cost of EGP10
million, comes within presidential directions to work on the governance of the country’s
border ports to speed up customs clearance procedures for all goods,” al-Naggar
said.
The new lab has the latest rapid
testing equipment for chemical shipments, including: detergents and adhesives,
hair care products, packages and paper products, as well as Formica wood to
ensure their conformity with local standard specifications.
