The contracts included various industrial sectors, such as: ceramics, garments and leather products.
As many as 80 Egyptian companies participated in the Baghdad International Fair, held on October 21-30, during which they met with Iraqi counterparts and negotiated deals worth $16 million, Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil said.
The business contracts included various industrial sectors: ceramics, electrical appliances, home furnishings, furniture, foodstuff, garments, handicrafts and leather products, he added.
"Egypt is keen on enhancing bilateral trade and investment with Iraq, and particularly participate in the country's reconstruction projects," Kabil noted.
He also stated that the Export Development Fund has recently approved covering 50% of the shipping costs of Egyptian exports to Iraq, stressing the importance of reoperating the land route between both countries.
