The event

The
Egyptian commercial office in the French capital Paris has organized a webinar
on the agricultural sector and agro-industries in Egypt, in coordination with
the Arab-French Chamber of Commerce in France “La Chambre de Commerce Franco
Arabe”, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Egypt and the Global Diwan.
The
event aimed at benefiting from the major French expertise in the field to further
boost commercial and agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
It
was opened by French Ambassador in Cairo Marc Baretti, with the participation
of Sayed Fouad, head of the Egyptian commercial office in Paris,
representatives of over 70 French and Egyptian companies specialized in the
agricultural and food industries sectors, in addition to relevant French
authorities.
According
to official data, Egyptian exports to the French market grew 30% during the January-August
period to reach about €516 million, compared to some €400 million last year.
This
export growth contributed to a decrease in trade deficit between Egypt and
France by 42% to €620 million during the first eight months of 2021.
