A joint working group will be formed to exchange substantive and technical expertise in MSMEs.
Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil met today with Romanian Minister of Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship Ilan Laufer and the accompanying delegation of businessmen, currently visiting Cairo to participate in the Egyptian-Romanian Business Forum.
The meeting tackled mutual cooperation in the field of SMEs, especially in light of the recent measures taken by the Egyptian government to enhance this vital sector, namely establishing the SMEs Development Authority.
“A joint working group will be formed to exchange substantive and technical expertise in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs),” Kabil said during the meeting.
The two sides also explored means of benefiting from the MSMEs development strategy applied in Romania.
Kabil also stressed that more effort should be done to further deepen bilateral relations, noting that trade between Egypt and Romania in the first nine months of the year hit $483mln, with exports to Romanian market amounting to $107mln.
