Minister
of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea met with Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade
and Supply Tarek Al-Hamoury, on the sidelines of the ordinary ministerial
session of the Arab League’s Socio-Economic Council.
The two
sides explored means of boosting commercial and industrial cooperation, and removing
obstacles hindering trade movement between the two countries.
“Egypt
is keen to expand cooperation with Jordan, especially in light of the trade agreements
binding them, on top of which the Agreement on Facilitating and Developing
Inter-Arab Trade and the Aghadir Agreement,” Gamea stressed.
They
also discussed potential cooperation in establishing industrial parks and
developing micro and small-sized enterprises, where Egypt has vast experience.
Al-Hamoury,
for his part, said that a delegation from the Jordanian Ministry of Industry,
Trade and Supply will visit Egypt soon for further cooperation talks.
