Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia grew significantly in 2020
to reach $2.6 billion, up 13% from $2.3
billion a year earlier, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has
announced.
According to the latest report by the Egyptian commercial
office in Jeddah, export growth was led by stronger shipments of food and agricultural
products, despite a decrease in total Saudi imports over the same year by 9%
compared to 2019 due to the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic.
Overall non-oil trade between the two countries also saw a noticeable
increase last year, hitting $4.4 billion, compared to $4.1 billion in 2019.
