Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has met- via video conference- with UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan bin Ahmed al-Jaber, and Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef al-Shamali, for the first time since the signing of the “Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development” in Abu Dhabi last week.

The virtual meeting discussed the roadmap for implementing initiatives related to the new partnership, timeframes for implementation, the creation of a governance mechanism, as well as tasks of the higher and executive committees to ensure the partnership’s objectives are met.

“Our nations are committed to supporting the private sector’s role in enabling the industrial partnership, through streamlining procedures for doing business and eliminating obstacles holding back capital and trade flows,” Gamea said.

During the meeting, the ministers agreed on Egypt’s hosting the inaugural meeting of the higher committee in July, under their chairmanship.
