The meeting has discussed the roadmap for implementing
initiatives related to the new partnership and the creation of a governance mechanism.

Egyptian Minister of Trade and
Industry Nevine Gamea has met- via video conference- with UAE Minister of
Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan bin Ahmed al-Jaber, and Jordanian
Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef al-Shamali, for the first time
since the signing of the “Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic
Development” in Abu Dhabi last week.
The virtual meeting discussed the
roadmap for implementing initiatives related to the new partnership, timeframes
for implementation, the creation of a governance mechanism, as well as tasks of
the higher and executive committees to ensure the partnership’s objectives are
met.
“Our nations are committed to
supporting the private sector’s role in enabling the industrial partnership,
through streamlining procedures for doing business and eliminating obstacles
holding back capital and trade flows,” Gamea said.
During the meeting, the ministers
agreed on Egypt’s hosting the inaugural meeting of the higher committee in July,
under their chairmanship.
