Within the Ministry of Trade and
Industry's efforts to boost exports to African markets, the Egyptian Commercial
Office in Uganda has organized a visit for a delegation from the Food Export
Council to the capital, Kampala.
The visit aims to follow up on the
arrangements for the first Egyptian exhibition of food products, to be held
during the first week of June, in coordination with Uganda National Chamber of
Commerce and Industry.
According to official figures, Egypt-Uganda
trade amounted to $110 million in 2020, with Egyptian exports standing at $101
million and imports $9 million. Food exports to the Ugandan market reached some
$18.1 million last year, up 16% from $15.6 million in 2019.
