Two African delegations
have visited Robbiki Leather City to explore Egypt’s experience in establishing
and managing industrial zones.

A
delegation from Kenyan National Defense College, comprising 15 students from Kenya
and others from Bangladesh, Burundi and Zambia, has visited the Industrial
Development Authority (IDA) headquarters and Robbiki Leather City.
The
visit included meeting with head of the IDA Mohamed al-Zalat to discuss ways of
cooperation and transfer of expertise in the field of establishing and managing
industrial zones and SME complexes.
The
Kenyan delegation also toured the Robbiki Leather City, and was received by Mahmoud
Mahrez, president of the Cairo Investment and Urban Development Company and the
one in charge of the leather park, who presented Egypt’s experience in
establishing a specialized complex for leather industries with the aim of becoming
a hub for tanning and leather manufacturing.
On a
related note, Robbiki received another delegation from the syndicate of engineers
from Uganda and Tanzania, accompanied by members of the Egyptian Engineers
Syndicate, to explore the country’s efforts to develop the leather industry.
