The second meeting of the Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Growth higher committee kicked off today in Cairo, co-chaired by Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed al-Jaber and Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef al-Shamali.

The meeting featured the announcement of Bahrain’s accession to the partnership, with the participation of the country’s Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid al-Zayani.

It also adopted the recommendations of the executive committee which met over the last two days and compiled a list of 87 proposed projects in the targeted sectors of agriculture, food, fertilizers and drugs- 12 of which are eligible for feasibility studies at an initial investment cost of $3.4 billion.

“The partnership with the UAE, Jordan and Bahrain will boost cooperation to achieve self-sufficiency and integration in the value chains of the Arab countries, through joint industrial projects,” Gamea said.
