There
is vast potential for boosting trade between Egypt and Brazil both at the
bilateral and multilateral levels, Chohfi says.

Ambassador
Osmar Chohfi, president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, has visited Egypt
Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, leading a 15-member delegation of Chamber officials
and representatives of Brazilian companies.
Chohfi
lauded the remarkable content of the pavilion, which highlights the ancient
Egyptian civilization and the major development efforts exerted by the government,
as well as the country’s ambitious vision for the future.
He
pointed out that the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce recently opened a
representative office in Cairo, which reflects the Chamber's interest in the
Egyptian market, being one of the most prominent in the Middle East and Africa,
The new
headquarters, Chohfi noted, will contribute to supporting joint Brazilian-Egyptian
factories and promoting trade between the two countries, both at the bilateral
and multilateral levels, with Latin American as well as African countries under
the Mercosur and the African Continental Free Trade agreements respectively.
He
further explained that the services provided by the office will include: establishing
communication channels at the commercial and investment levels with Egyptian counterpart
institutions, government agencies and the local business community, organizing mutual
trade missions between Egypt and Brazil and related business activities, in
addition to providing services to Brazilian-funded companies and helping them communicate
with government bodies and the Egyptian business community.
Other
services will include: promoting the participation of companies in exhibitions,
conferences and other economic events, communicating with the local and
regional authorities concerned in this regard, and providing legal consultations
in the areas of trade and protection of intellectual property rights, Chohfi
added.
