exports amounting to $149 million last year.

Under the
patronage of Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea and Minister of Supply
and Internal Trade Ali al-Moselhy, the eighth session of the official ceramics,
porcelain and sanitary ware exhibition "Ceramica Market" opened today,
and will run until February 28, at the Cairo International Conference Center.
The expo was
inaugurated by Ibrahim al-Segginy, assistant trade minister for economic affairs,
on behalf of Gamea, and the opening ceremony was attended by 15 ambassadors and
trade representatives from Arab, African and European countries.
“Ceramics is a highly-competitive sector
in Egypt, with local components making up as high as 90% of the industry,” he
said, noting that ceramic exports amounted to $149 million last year.
