Buenos Aires- Dec 10, 2017
Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil chaired today, in the Argentinian capital, Buenos Aires, a consultation meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States' trade ministers, to discuss their countries' positions regarding the issues on the WTO's negotiating table.
"The multi-lateral trading system is facing major challenges, due to rising global protectionism and conflict of interests," Kabil said during the meeting.
He also stressed the urgency of reaching a trade agreement that would serve the interests of all countries, especially the developing and least developed ones.
Accompanied by a high-powered delegation, Kabil is participating in the WTO 11th Ministerial Meeting, currently taking place in Buenos Aires, from December 10 to 13.
