The “Ahlan Ramadan” fairs help offset the overall rise in
food prices, thus, alleviate the burdens of Egyptian consumers.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly opened
today “Ahlan Ramadan” (Welcome Ramadan) expo held on March 24-31 at the Cairo
International Conference Center in Cairo.
The premier was accompanied by
Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea, Minister of Supply and Internal
Trade Ali al-Moselhy, as well as representatives of the General Federation of
Chambers of Commerce and officials from the authorities concerned.
“The ministry is keen to provide citizens
with basic commodities of high quality at affordable prices,” Gamea said,
noting that it had adopted over the past few weeks a series of measures including
an export ban on a number of foodstuffs to maintain Egypt’s strategic reserves of
staple goods, especially ahead of the high-consuming month of Ramadan.
Holding the “Ahlan Ramadan” trade
fairs in various governorates across the country would offset the overall rise
in food prices, thus, help alleviate the burdens of Egyptian consumers, she
added.
