Trade minister meets with FEDCOC board

The minister has discussed enhancing the role of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and listened to the demands of the board members.

Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has met with the board of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) led by President Ibrahim al-Arabi, to discuss its targets and plans for the next period and ways to enhance its role in developing internal trade, increasing exports and stimulating the national economy.

“The FEDCOC is one of the main arms of the ministry in implementing the state's objectives of achieving sustainable and inclusive development,” Gamea noted, stressing its   importance in supporting SMEs and integrating the informal sector into the formal economy, hence boosting economic growth.

Furthermore, the minister listened to the demands of the members, mostly with regards to reviewing the fees for wholesale markets in a number of governorates, streamlining procedures of commercial registration, and establishing additional headquarters for some chambers especially in large governorates.
