Leather City has received a delegation from Libya led by Minister of Industry
and Minerals Ahmed Abu Heisa, to explore the manufacturing capabilities of the
park for potential cooperation in the field of leather and tanning industries.
President
of the Cairo Investment and Urban Development Company Mahmoud Mahrez said that the
visit comes following talks held between Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea
and her Libyan counterpart two days ago, during which they discussed boosting
joint cooperation in the field.
The delegation
visited a number of tanneries, as well as the 100-factory area in the complex which
will include units for the manufacture of finished products.
The
total cost of the three-phase project amounts to EGP7.2 billion; EGP2.5 billion
for the first phase, EGP1.8 billion for the second, and EGP2.9 billion for the
third.
