A delegation of top Italian companies is set to visit Egypt in
the near future to discuss potential trade and industrial partnerships with Egyptian
counterparts.

Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has held a virtual
meeting with Italian Ambassador to Egypt Giampaolo Cantini, in the presence of Head
of the Italian Trade Agency in Cairo Francesco Pagnini, to discuss means of boosting
economic ties between Egypt and Italy in the current period
The meeting also reviewed the progress of mutual development
cooperation programs in the fields of technology transfer, SME development
especially industrial ones, training and technical assistance.
Gamea said that a delegation of top Italian companies is set
to visit Egypt in the near future to discuss potential trade and industrial partnerships
with Egyptian counterparts.
The minister also added that coordination is underway between
the two governments to operate a roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) shipping line to
facilitate the transfer of goods, especially agricultural ones, between Egypt,
Italy and Europe.
According to official figures, Egypt-Italy trade registered
$1.827 billion during the first half of 2020, including $636 million of
Egyptian exports and $1.191 billion of imports from Italy.
