Minister
of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has received a delegation from the Bahrain
Businessmen's Association, which included 22 heads of major Bahraini
institutions and companies, led by Chairman Ahmed Abdullah bin Hindi.
The meeting
explored various investment opportunities available for Bahraini business
circles in the local market, mainly in the fields of manufacturing, agriculture,
construction and retail trade; in addition to establishing a permanent
exhibition for Egyptian products in Bahrain and branches for some Bahraini
companies in Egypt.
“Egypt
is keen to boost joint economic ties with Bahrain to unprecedented levels,”
Gamea said, stressing the important role of business communities in the two
countries in strengthening bilateral cooperation in various sector.
The
ministry, she added, is committed to providing all support to Bahraini industrial
projects in Egypt to enable them to overcome all potential obstacles and
challenges.
According
to official data, Egypt-Bahrain trade amounted to $552 million in the first seven
months of the year. Top goods exchanged between the two countries include: vegetables,
fruits, furniture, food products, aromas, iron, aluminum and its products.
