Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil will inaugurate today, in Cairo, the third round of negotiations of the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) between Egypt and the United States of America.
Being the first round of talks under the Trump administration, the negotiations will tackle a wide range of topics of mutual cooperation, including: trade facilitation, intellectual property rights, standard specifications, food security and SMEs.
The Egyptian side will also discuss with its US counterpart means of benefiting from the US Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), the access of Egyptian citrus exports into the US markets and the inclusion of new industrial zones in Upper Egypt into the Qualifying Industrial Zones (QIZ) treaty.
