Cairo- June 27, 2019

Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar said that Egypt’s participation in the G20 Summit, held in Japan’s Osaka city on June 28-29, is an important opportunity to present its vision for development in Africa, and assert African presence on the international agenda.

He added that an Egyptian-Japanese roundtable will be organized on the sidelines of the summit, in which 24 Japanese companies will take part, to explore potential areas of mutual cooperation in Egypt as well as on the Dark Continent.

Nassar pointed out that Egypt-Japan trade grew 30.5% in 2018, to reach $1.26 billion, up from $969 million a year earlier; noting that Japan ranks 31 among the top investors in Egypt with total investments worth $420 million in some 106 projects.
