The
meeting discussed strengthening bilateral and tripartite cooperation between
Egypt and Jordan, as well as with Iraq.

Minister
of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has held talks with Jordanian Minister of
Industry Trade and Supply Yousef al-Shamali, to discuss means to enhance
cooperation between Egypt and Jordan in the commercial, industrial and investment
fields.
The
meeting comes as part of the current visit by Crown Prince of the Hashemite
Kingdom of Jordan Hussein bin Abdullah II to Cairo, heading a high-level
government delegation.
The two
sides also reviewed ways to develop tripartite cooperation between Egypt,
Jordan and Iraq, and build on the fruitful discussions that took place during
the past months, with the aim of achieving economic integration between the
three Arab countries.
According
to official data, Egypt-Jordan grew significantly to reach $370 million during
the first half of the year, up 30% from $283 million a year earlier. Egyptian exports
to Jordan amounted to $292 million and imports $78 million.
