An MoU was signed during the meeting on cooperation in the area of antimonopoly regulation.

The sixth meeting of the Belarusian-Egyptian Joint Trade Committee opened today in Belarus's capital, Minsk, co-chaired by Belarusian Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Vladimir Koltovich and First Undersecretary of the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry Ahmad Antar.
The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries, government bodies, organizations and the private sector of both countries.
The two sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of common interest, notably expanding cooperation in the areas of agricultural industries, textiles, furniture, scientific projects, as well as IT and communications technologies.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Egypt on cooperation in antimonopoly regulation.
According to official figures, Egypt-Belarus trade hit $108 million in 2018, up 10.7% from a year earlier, with Egypt's exports to Belarus rising 17.4% to record $25 million. Belarusian investments in the local market include 27 projects in the fields of industry, tourism, construction, agriculture, IT and communications.
