The Industrial Development Authority issued 561 building
permits and 5,191 operating licenses to new factories during the January-July

According to a recent report, the Industrial Development Authority
(IDA) issued, during the first half of the year, 561 building permits and 5,191
operating licenses to new factories, as well as 2,467 permanent industrial
registers and 856 fixed-term ones.
The authority also conducted 4,276 studies aimed at deepening
local industrialization and increasing Egyptian exports to foreign markets, namely
on government tenders, customs reductions, identifying the needs of government
agencies and boosting exports.
“We are committed to
boosting investments in the manufacturing sector and achieving inclusive
industrial development, ” Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea said
commenting on the report.
She further stressed the ministry's keenness to deepen local industry
by enhancing its capabilities and adopting the latest industrial technologies,
in order to boost the competitiveness of Egyptian products both in the domestic
and foreign markets.
