Gamea meets Libyan economic affairs minister for cooperation talks

Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has met with Libyan Minister of State for Economic Affairs Salama Al-Ghwail, where they discussed means to boost joint trade and investments in the coming period.

“Egypt is keen on strengthening mutual cooperation with Libya in various fields, building on the deep-rooted ties between the two countries,” Gamea said.

The minister added that there is currently close cooperation between Egypt and Libya in the manufacturing sector to transfer Egyptian know-how to Libyan industry, with the aim of getting production rolling again.

According to the ministry’s data, Libya ranked 9th among Egypt’s largest export markets in 2021, with an export value of $938 million, up 64.5% from a year earlier.
