Cairo- Feb 15,
At her first
press conference on Saturday, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea presented the ministry’s vision and strategies to develop local industry and
the industrial sector is a top priority on the government’s agenda. We are
working diligently to identify all the challenges facing this vital sector and
find radical solutions to them,” Gamea said.
She stressed that the ministry aims to raise the
productivity and competitiveness of Egyptian industry, hence, increase its exports
to markets all over the world.
To this end, the ministry has taken steps to eliminate
bureaucracy, digitalize services, support feeding industries, transfer modern
technology to the local industry, set up more industrial parks to reach the total
of 4,500 and implement the “National Industrial Localization Program (NILP)”-
which aims at replacing exports with locally manufactured products.
